Academies Bulletin - Teachers and peripatetics: are you paying the right amount of tax?

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) have launched their latest voluntary disclosure plan, for those receiving tuition and coaching income where the full amount of tax has not been paid. This applies whether this is the main or a secondary source of income, and regardless of whether a formal qualification is held.

Academies Bulletin - 2011/12 Budget Returns - The GAG2 form

All Academies are required to submit a statement of income and expenditure for the financial year on a GAG2 formThe GAG2 form is due 6 weeks after the “Final funding statement” is received by the Academy.   It must be approved by the Governing Body and contain two signatures. It must be submitted in hard copy and also electronically using the standard template to:

Cost Woes Undermining Business Confidence

In September 2011, Bishop Fleming undertook a survey of owner managed businesses in the South West, asking specifically how their businesses had been affected by the rising energy, transport, and food costs.

Respondents advised they were adversely affected as follows:

41% identified increased transport costs

25.6% identified increased energy costs (gas, electricity and oil)
