Fast-Growing Bath Accountants Create New Jobs - 2/3/2012

Following the recent acquisition of Bath’s Target Accountants by Bishop Fleming, the firm is growing fast and creating new jobs.

With all 47 staff at the former Target Accountants’ Bath office having been retained by Bishop Fleming, the firm has announced eight new vacancies, including openings for qualified managers, to cope with continued growth.

According to Andrew Sandiford, newly confirmed as Partner in Charge of Bishop Fleming in Bath: “Prior to our move to Bishop Fleming, we were already growing at the rate of more than 15% per year. That growth continues, and our joining Bishop Fleming has brought in even more new business, including work for local Academy schools.

“That means that we need to recruit more people”, said Mr Sandiford.

Following the move to Bishop Fleming, the Bath team is also actively looking for a new office location.

All offices of Bishop Fleming, including Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Truro, and Worcester, are recruiting new people to meet the firm’s growth.

This includes plans to take on at least 24 graduate trainees.

Matthew Lee, Managing Partner at Bishop Fleming, said: “We are staging graduate recruitment days in Bristol, for our Bath, Worcester, and Bristol offices, and in Exeter for our Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, and Truro offices.

“Across all our offices, we need to recruit at least eight qualified accountants and 24 graduate trainees”, he added.

Meanwhile, Bishop Fleming is introducing new services and sector specialisms to its new Bath office, including Business Recovery (Bishop Fleming is the South West’s largest business recovery firm), Charity & not-for-profit expertise (Bishop Fleming is the region’s leading specialist for this sector), and specialist skills for care-homes, healthcare, hotels, and tourism.

“It’s a simple fact that Bishop Fleming’s acquisition of Target Accountants’ Bath operations is a perfect marriage: the merging of the two firms has been simple because we share client profiles and commitment, and we share values and priorities”, said Matthew Lee.
