Will Hanbury

Will Hanbury
Head of Tourism & Leisure Sector Group

With a degree in hotel & catering management, and a personal business running self-catering apartments, Will is eminently qualified to head Bishop Fleming’s Tourism & Leisure Sector Team, serving hundreds of hotels, restaurants, and visitor attractions.

A qualified chartered accountant, Will joined Bishop Fleming in 1998 from his former role as a hotel manager. He retrained as an accountant following his earlier career in hotel and catering.

Will was educated at Marlborough College and Bournemouth University.

“Too often professional advisers do not have the experience of their clients’ business. I have trained and worked at the sharp end of running tourism and leisure businesses in this region, so I know the issues this sector faces – and my accountancy training has revealed the opportunities that we can offer.”

Head of Marine Industries Sector Group

Having worked for a decade at one of the ‘Big 4’ accountants in Bristol, Barbados, and Bermuda, Charlie joined Bishop Fleming’s Bristol office in 1989. He was Partner in Charge of that office for six years, and managed the firm’s move to a new office in the city’s Queen Square before transferring to Plymouth.

A specialist in advising owner managed businesses, and one of our most ardent champions of reducing “red tape”, Charlie was born in Exeter and graduated from Bristol University. In 2006 he relocated to Plymouth to become Partner in Charge of our Plymouth office.

A long-term member of Plymouth’s Royal Western Yacht Club, Charlie also heads Bishop Fleming’s team serving the Marine Industries sector.

“I view my role as providing an interface between what people want to do and what they have to comply with – enabling them to deliver their business vision.”

Having qualified with a regional firm of accountants and worked in a ‘big four’ firm in Plymouth for 12 years, I am well placed to advise on the far reaching business needs of owner-managed businesses."
