"Top Tier" Accountant Joins Bishop Fleming's Torbay Office
One of the top partners at Bishop Fleming, the accountancy firm with the widest spread of offices throughout the South West, is joining the firm's Torbay team.
Pam Tuckett spent 13 years with “Global Big Four” firm, PwC, before joining Bishop Fleming’s Plymouth office in 2001. She has spent the majority of her career advising owner managed businesses.
She said: “I see my role as that of general business adviser to a range of clients, advising on all aspects of business. I spend a significant proportion of my time giving guidance on strategic issues and chairing board meetings for clients. In today’s economic climate it is more important than ever to have a close working relationship with clients so I can help them through the tough times ahead."
In addition to advising owner-managed businesses, Pam is a key member of the firm’s specialist team serving Charities and Not-for-Profit organisations, and is one of the region’s few qualified specialists in this sector. Pam is also a member of the Institute of Taxation.
Pam’s move to Torquay coincides with the retirement of Torbay-based Bishop Fleming partner, Graham Howe, who joined the firm in 1994 when it acquired his accountancy practice. Mr Howe is now taking a part-time role as Group Finance Director with one of Bishop Fleming’s clients, insurance brokers The Pavey Group.
Tim Godfrey will take over Graham Howe’s role as Partner in Charge of Bishop Fleming’s Torbay office. Born in Torquay, Tim became a partner in the firm 10 years ago.
Tim said: “This is a new chapter in the Torquay office of Bishop Fleming and I am excited about Pam joining the team. Her skills will compliment our plans for further growth”.
According to Brian Payne, Bishop Fleming’s Chief Executive: “The continued rapid growth of our Torquay office’s business demands the addition of another senior partner. Pam Tuckett is ideally equipped to help our Torbay clients to confront and surmount the business challenges they now face.
“While she will continue to serve a number of her Plymouth clients, Pam will bring a wealth of capability and experience to our expanding Torquay office”, he added.
