Bacs is a mass payment method used by businesses to pay salaries, wages, subscriptions, pensions and suppliers.
Bacs Approved Bureau status allows the accredited business to offer enhanced payroll services to it’s clients, including direct payments and direct debit services.
However, to become a Bacs Approved Bureau the business must meet very stringent criteria in a number of areas.
Assessed on it’s organisational procedures, financial information, physical security systems, computer operations, applications and systems support, Bacs processing and operations, Bishop Fleming met all of the requirements and was awarded ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ ratings in all categories.
Lee Hellingsworth, Business Development Manager for Payroll Services at Bishop Fleming comments: “We were one of the very first to win this level of accreditation in the South West and we are very pleased to have secured the accreditation for the second time.
“It’s a very strict assessment procedure with regular reviews. The enhanced services that we can provide as a result, offer our customers considerable time and cost savings.”
The firm has provided a client payroll service since 1984 and became a Bacs Approved Bureau in November 2004. The firm is on course to conduct more than 85,000 credit Bacs transactions during 2007.
