Rhona joined Bishop Fleming in 2009 as Director of VAT Services. She began her career as a VAT officer with what was then HM Customs and Excise, moving into practice in 1990. She qualified as a CTA in 1996.
Rhona's experience encompasses a wide range of business sectors and she has particular expertise in land and property VAT issues and in the charity and not-for-profit sectors.
Much of Rhona's work involves negotiation with HMRC on behalf of clients. She aims to take a practical, constructive approach to these VAT discussions and has a strong track record in achieving positive results - often resulting in significant savings.
Rhona is also a skilled trainer and presenter and is author of two Tottel Tax Digests on Social Housing and Supplies of Staff.
Rhona's big passion (other than VAT!) is drumming. She regularly takes part in workshops on West African drumming and also plays in Bloco do Sol Nascente - one of the UK's largest samba bands.
