We are committed to conducting business in a responsible way, and pride ourselves in applying the same high professional standards that our clients receive to our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. We do this through an annual programme of charitable fundraising activities, and through achieving ambitious environmental reduction targets.

The environment

The firm takes a practical view on environmental sustainability, implementing energy and cost saving measures in a progressive and timely manner in order to change culture and behaviour.

Our culture means that we have a strong inter-office teamwork ethic, matching the people with the most appropriate skills and experience with our client base, regardless of geographical location. With seven offices spread from Worcester to Truro, a reduction in total business mileage continues to remain our biggest challenge, particularly in an environment where we are successfully increasing our overall client base. We are delighted to have achieved a reduction in mileage per £1000 income by almost 18% since 2012,  and remain committed to servicing our client’s needs through building strong relationships.

Supporting the community

All members of staff from our offices in Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Truro, Torquay and Worcester are encouraged to take part in and support the various initiatives throughout the year, which include:

  • #TourofBF – The Tour of BF is a cycle tour that started at our Truro office in Cornwall, calling at each office (Plymouth. Torquay, Exeter, Bristol and Bath), travelling over 4 days up to our Worcester office in the West Midlands, raising over £28,000 for local charities.
  • Young Enterprise – We recognise the valuable skills that our staff are able to provide teams. This helps us build strong relationships with schools in our local communities.
  • Work Experience – In 2015 we ran our first coordinated and planned work experience programme, in which 14 students joined us for a week in 3 offices to gain an insight into the world of accountancy.
  • Local Community Engagement – Many of our partners and staff are very engaged in the local community and undertake roles such as local school governors, charity trustees, or sit on local community groups.
