Community Led Local Development

6th November 2018

Community Led Local Development (CLLD) aims to provide pathways to better economic opportunities for people and businesses in the most deprived areas of Cornwall, strengthening local availability of employment, skills and training, and developing the ability of local residents to access these.

CLLD is delivered through four Local Action Groups (LAGs) across Cornwall with each funding the activity in their area to achieve the objectives of the Local Development Strategy. The scheme can accept applications from any sized business or social enterprise based in a ‘Core’ area, defined by postcode. Projects should increase the applicant’s capacity and ideally lead to some degree of job creation.

The Enterprise Small Grant Scheme can award grants up to £10,000. The larger scheme has no technical upper limit but will require a two-stage application process with a detailed assessment. In addition, specific ‘calls’ will be made against published criteria for particular types of projects in each of the Local Action Group areas. Eligible costs could include – capital equipment, building works, land and building acquisition, IT solutions, consultancy fees, skills development, training and direct staff costs relating to a project.

The funding is available until September 2022 but please note that postcode and sector restrictions apply. For further details, contact the CLLD delivery team on 01209 615067, CLLD@cornwalldevelopmentcompany.co.uk, or visit - http://communityledcornwall.co.uk/
