National Payroll Week – the changing face of the profession

National Payroll Week celebrates the payroll profession as it continues to evolve and receive the long overdue recognition it richly deserves.

The week-long initiative is organised by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), the only Chartered Institute for payroll and pension professionals in the UK.

As the CIPP states, with over 285 pieces of legislation affecting payroll administration and over £446 billion collected through National Insurance and tax contributions, payroll and pensions play a significant role in the UK economy.

The advent of pension auto-enrolment has forced many employers to outsource their payroll administration to a dedicated payroll team who can not only deal with all the PAYE filing requirements but deal with also workplace pension administration.
