Bishop Fleming is proud to celebrate the success of the 2025 Bishop Fleming Great West Run, held on Sunday, 25 May, marking the second event in its three-year title partnership with Devon’s biggest running event.
This year’s race also marked a special milestone, the 40th anniversary of the Great West Run, which brought thousands of runners together in a sold-out event that celebrated community, health, and charitable giving. From the iconic half marathon and 10k race to the inclusive Moki Community Mile, the event showcased the best of Exeter, with closed roads, scenic countryside routes, and a celebratory finish at the Exeter Arena.

As Principal sponsor, Bishop Fleming is proud to use the Great West Run as a platform for meaningful fundraising. This year alone, the firm has nearly completed its ambitious £75,000 fundraising target to support its six regional charity partners. The Great West Run is a key part of Bishop Fleming’s wider 1% for Communities commitment - an initiative pledging the equivalent of 1% of annual turnover to impactful volunteering and fundraising activities across the South West and West Midlands.
Paul Seymour, Chief Marketing Officer at Bishop Fleming, said:
“What an incredible day we had as title sponsors of the Bishop Fleming 40th Anniversary Great West Run! This event has become a highlight in our calendar, and it’s a privilege to see it unite communities and inspire fundraising for brilliant local causes. The event perfectly reflects our commitment through 1% for Communities, as we work towards our ambition to be the most rewarding accountancy firm in the UK for our clients, our people, and our communities.”

Bishop Fleming’s 1% for Communities initiative also offers every employee a day per year to volunteer with their chosen community cause or office charity partner. This year, the firm’s six partner charities will benefit from a targeted £75,000 fundraising campaign, with events like the Great West Run playing a key role in delivering on this goal.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary, we also ran a charity selfie giveaway, donating £100 to selected winners’ chosen causes who tagged us in Social Media. Congratulations to our charity giveaway winners:
Thank you to everyone who took part or supported on the day – we’re proud to be part of such an inspiring community event and can’t wait for the next one!
