Chorus: Scaling cyber security innovation from the South West

Chorus unlocks the full power of Microsoft through scalable IT, cyber and people‑first expertise.

22 June 2026

“When you see what we’ve built here in the South West and how far it’s reaching, it’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”

For Chorus, being shortlisted for both Best Cyber Firm and Best Place to Work at the 2026 SPARKies reflects more than just growth. It recognises a business that has scaled its technology, partnerships and culture while staying grounded in its Bristol roots.

John Talbot and Abigail Tacchi from Bishop Fleming met with Lisa Treasure, Head of Marketing at Chorus, to learn more about the team behind the nominations.

A Microsoft-first business built for impact

Founded in 1999, Chorus has grown into a leading UK Microsoft Solutions Partner, helping organisations modernise IT, strengthen cyber security and build business applications using Microsoft cloud technologies.

Today, the business is built around three core areas: managed IT services, cyber security and business applications. This joined-up approach allows customers to get more value from the Microsoft tools they already use.

“We help customers go from zero to hero with Microsoft,” Lisa explains. “It’s about making sure they are getting the most out of what they already have.”

That consulting expertise is backed by a strong managed services model, including 24-hour IT and cybersecurity support and response, ensuring customers always have access to expert help when they need it.

A cyber security model built to scale

Chorus’ cyber capabilities have been central to its SPARKies recognition.

Several years ago, the business invested in building its own Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) to deliver managed security services to its customers, before  developing a partner-led model through Chorus Cyber that enables managed service providers (MSPs) to deliver advanced cyber security without building it themselves. This has since scaled internationally, supported by a growing network of partners.

The company now delivers around-the-clock monitoring and rapid threat response, combining Microsoft security technologies with automation and AI to detect and contain risks quickly.

“It’s the scale that makes the difference,” says Lisa. “Because we have that scale, we can deliver true 24-hour coverage.”

This approach has enabled Chorus to bring enterprise-grade cyber security within reach of smaller organisations, helping them strengthen resilience in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

A culture that puts people first

Alongside its technical success, Chorus has built a strong reputation for its workplace culture.

From around 20 people a decade ago to roughly 95 today, the business has grown organically while maintaining a clear identity based on four core values: stay curious, embrace the future, champion the truth and enjoy the journey. These values guide how the team works and collaborates every day. Whether through social events, community activities, or building partnerships, the team is focused on having fun along the way.

“We put a huge emphasis on people,” Lisa says. “It’s about empowering them, listening to them, and making sure everyone feels included.”

The company supports this through a range of initiatives, including a dedicated equality, diversity and inclusion group, cultural events, and regular employee feedback surveys. It is also actively working to increase diversity within the business, particularly supporting more women to enter and thrive in technology roles.

Chorus values

Proudly South West, with growing reach

Based in Portishead near Bristol, Chorus is proud of its South West identity.

Many of its customers are based in the region, and the team is committed to supporting the local tech ecosystem while demonstrating what regional businesses can achieve on a wider stage.

“We are very proud to be Bristol based,” Lisa adds. “There is so much innovation happening here, and it’s exciting to be part of that.”

At the same time, its cyber partner model through Chorus Cyber has enabled the business to expand its reach internationally, showing how South West companies can compete globally.

Looking ahead

Looking to the future, Chorus is focused on continued growth across all areas of the business, alongside a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence.

For the team, AI is not just about new technology, but ensuring organisations are properly prepared to adopt it.

“There is the exciting side of AI, but there is also the groundwork,” Lisa explains. “We’re helping customers get ready for both.”

Alongside this, the business remains focused on recruiting and retaining talent, improving diversity, helping women access and sustain careers in tech and scaling sustainably without losing the culture that defines it.

A business to watch

For Chorus, a SPARKies win would be recognition of both its technical innovation and its commitment to people.

It highlights a business that is proving you can have a global impact wherever you are based. From Portishead, Bristol to international markets, Chorus is demonstrating how South West tech continues to push boundaries.
