Our new Exeter office opens doors to future growth

The official opening of Bishop Fleming’s new Exeter office on 10 July signals the start of an exciting, ambitious growth drive. The new premises at Winslade Park has positioned the firm for accelerated expansion and recruitment, deepening its regional presence and enhancing its client service excellence.

The opening event marks three successful months since relocating from Stratus House and represents a major milestone in the firm’s regional and national strategy. The move is a key part of Bishop Fleming’s Better Growth vision, which has already doubled the size of the business in recent years and now targets £200m+ revenue and over 2,000 people through sustainable organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

Now the second-largest office in the firm’s network, the new Exeter hub reinforces Bishop Fleming’s long-term commitment to the South West economy. It will play a critical role in delivering expanded services, developing talent, and driving innovation for clients, while supporting the firm’s broader national scale-up strategy.

This future expansion will be fuelled by a recent minority private equity investment from Synova, one of the UK’s leading growth investors. The partnership will accelerate the firm’s national expansion through M&A, while preserving its partner-led ownership structure and values-driven culture.

The Exeter office now employs over 100 people, and its capacity will continue to grow in the coming years. In 2025, it will also welcome 12 of the firm’s 70 new apprentices through Bishop Fleming’s Ofsted 'Outstanding'-rated Apprenticeship Programme, one of just 18 Employer Providers in the UK with that status.

This investment builds on recent market recognition. Bishop Fleming remains the number one auditor for Owner-Managed Businesses in the South West, according to Insider Media’s latest OMB 100 list, affirming its strength in supporting the region’s mid-market businesses.

The firm continues to experience rapid growth across its service lines. Audit alone grew 20% year-on-year and is now actively recruiting Audit Executives, Managers, Senior Managers, and Directors, particularly in Exeter, to support its expanding regional and national footprint.

In the past year, Bishop Fleming has secured four national awards at the Accounting Excellence Awards, including Large Firm of the Year, and was named Regional Tax Practice of the Year at the Tolley’s Tax Awards. The firm was also re-certified as a Great Place to Work® for the third year running.
