Bishop Fleming’s Corporate Finance team has advised the shareholders of Kings Heavy Haulage on its sale to Groupe Capelle, an abnormal load transport specialist headquartered in France.

Kings Heavy Haulage is a Bristol-based, pan-European operator with more than 50 years of experience in heavy and abnormal load movements. The company operates in niche segments, including defence, infrastructure, aerospace and industrial projects, where transports often involve exceptional dimensions, sensitive cargo and complex regulatory requirements.
Capelle, which already operates from 47 sites in eight countries, said its acquisition aims to strengthen its abnormal load transport offering, especially in the aerospace and defence sectors.
Commenting on the acquisition, Jean-Daniel Capelle, Groupe Capelle chairman said:
“The arrival of Kings Heavy Haulage in our Group represents far more than a simple geographical expansion. It is the alliance of two companies, united by the same passion for the oversized and the same commitment to quality in the service of our clients.”
Bishop Fleming was the lead financial advisor to the shareholders of Kings Heavy Haulage. The team was led by corporate finance partner Charles Davey and senior manager Robin Kirkham Parry, with support from George Preece.
Steven King, Managing Director of Kings Heavy Haulage, commented:
“The Bishop Fleming team provided outstanding support from the beginning to the end. Their expert guidance, unwavering commitment and hands-on approach were invaluable in securing the perfect outcome for our family business.”
Charles Davey commented:
“It was a pleasure to advise the Kings family on this deal. They have built a great business over a number of years and in Groupe Capelle they have found a partner who shares their values and will be a good home for the business.”
Legal advice to the shareholders was provided by Richard Hopkins and Michael Clarke at Roxburgh Milkins LLP.
