Charlie is an experienced external audit specialist and trusted adviser to public sector and not-for-profit organisations, with a particular focus on external audit.
He works with a range of organisations, including healthcare, social housing and wider public sector bodies, supporting senior leadership teams, boards and audit committees to navigate financial reporting, governance and regulatory requirements.
Charlie combines strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, insight-led approach. He is highly experienced in engaging with audit committees and boards, providing clear, independent challenge and robust assurance over financial reporting, internal control and risk management frameworks. He is valued for his ability to translate complex technical matters into clear, actionable insights that support effective oversight and decision-making.
He views the audit not simply as a compliance exercise, but as an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of each organisation, identifying key risks and delivering practical recommendations to strengthen governance and financial management.
Charlie is committed to delivering high-quality audit services and building strong, long-term client relationships, based on collaboration, responsiveness and a genuine understanding of client priorities.
He is a member of the ICAEW’s Social Housing Committee and previously represented the firm on the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) South West branch.
In addition to his client work, Charlie leads training programmes on annual accounting and regulatory developments, helping finance teams stay ahead of change and apply new requirements in a practical and effective way.

- Experienced in managing teams to deliver rigorous and compliant audit and assurance to a wide range of corporate and public sector clients.
- Charlie also leads assignments focusing on the testing and review of accounting procedures and internal controls; he is able to make practical recommendations on how to improve client systems.
- Strong track record of preparing fully compliant financial statements under both FRS 102 and IFRS for both single and group entities.
- Charlie has led in delivering the training in annual accounting and tax developments for finance staff.
- Ensuring clients meet their reporting deadlines, providing them with clear financial information and ongoing strategic support and assistance as required.
- Liaising with other specialists across the firm to ensure clients receive a holistic professional service, including but not limited to corporation tax, payroll, VAT and corporate finance.
