John has a deep understanding of his clients’ needs and their objectives to ensure that an audit is focussed on the key risk areas. He provides his clients with clear and practical commercial observations and advice, and proactively advises on relevant regulatory developments and how best to manage them to minimise their impact.
He has extensive corporate experience from dealing with start-ups to multinational groups across a wide variety of sectors including digital, manufacturing, leisure and hospitality, and professional services. He also has a thorough knowledge of not-for-profit organisations, and particularly the education sector.
John's service expertise
- Ensuring clients meet their reporting deadlines, providing them with clear financial information and ongoing assistance as required
- Liaising with other specialists across the firm to ensure clients receive a holistic professional service, including but not limited to payroll, VAT, Xero consultancy and corporate finance
- Has significant experience in working with Digital and Tech sector businesses. These range from pre-revenue start-ups to mature businesses with multi-million recurring revenues. Ownership structures range from owner managed, PE backed to subsidiaries of listed businesses
- Within the Digital sector, experience includes clients working in the following areas: SEO, digital media and agency work, SAS, bundled software / hardware solutions, programming services and contract work

Extensive experience of working with the not for profit sector, from small foundations to multinational organisations

Deals with a large number of Academies, including SATs and MATs

Has a deep sector expertise in understanding the challenges and requirements of the Academy system, including the various compliance requirements. This means advice he delivers advice proactively, helping his Academy clients navigate the compliance landscape and manage changes effectively
