Jonathan Williams - Head of Business Recovery & Insolvency, Licensed Insolvency Practitioner & Partner in Charge for Bristol

Jonathan is a Partner and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

He has been an insolvency appointment-taker since 2012, providing turnaround, business reconstruction, and insolvency advice to companies, their directors, and individuals. Jonathan is a member of the ICAEW Insolvency Committee and is a Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (FABRP).

He trained and qualified with a ‘Big 4’ accountancy firm in Bristol, then spent seven years as the Group Financial Controller of a London-listed international group of companies, responsible for international group financial management and tax, and managing acquisitions, disposals and post-acquisition integration. He joined Bishop Fleming in 1999 and was instrumental in the creation of the firm’s Corporate Finance department, which he led until 2012, providing Bishop Fleming’s clients with expert advice on acquisitions, company sales, transaction support, succession advice and re-financing.

Outside of work, Jonathan is married with one teenage son. He is the Hon. Treasurer of the Bristol Benevolent Institution, a Bristol-based endowed charity with a 140-year history of providing financial support to the elderly in the region. When he is not working, he can usually be tracked down walking in the Brecon Beacons.
