The Process

What is the process for claiming?

Broadly, our claim process is as follows:

  1. Consultation – We have an initial discussion with you to familiarise you with the regime and explore what is possible.
     
  2. Engagement - We take time to understand your business, which is invaluable context for curating a thorough claim.
     
  3. Eligibility - We meet you and your team to identify your qualifying activities and the associated qualifying costs.
     
  4. Technical Report – We produce a technical report for you to review. This includes detailed narrative for the qualifying projects and detailed workings of the costs.
     
  5. Submission – We submit the R&D claim to HMRC together with an amended Corporation Tax return and liaise with HMRC to manage the claim.

R&D Tax Credits are calculated by identifying all the costs that your company has incurred whilst undertaking development work. These typically consist of employee salaries, consumable costs and subcontractor costs, and we work with you to capture all of these and legitimately maximise your R&D claim.
