Funding for your journey to net zero

Making changes to manufacturing to reduce carbon can be costly and the UK government is supporting manufacturing businesses on their journey to a low carbon future.

07 July 2022

National Manufacturing Day is about promoting the UK’s fantastic manufacturing businesses and all the amazing things they produce. As part of the day, we are looking at ways in which funding can help manufacturers make important changes to reduce their carbon emissions.

Making any changes to manufacturing process, machinery or product development to reduce carbon can be costly and the UK government is supporting manufacturing businesses on their journey to a low carbon future.

Given the current headwinds in the economy, it’s all the more startling that many manufacturers aren’t aware that they that they could be eligible for a share of up to £70m in grant funding via the latest Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) competition.

The Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has been running the fund since late 2020 and Phase 1 of the competition completed in July 2021. Grants of £69m out of the fund totalling £289m were awarded in that Phase with further phases running until 2025.

The current the Phase 2: Summer 2022 competition opened on 30 May and aims to support the deployment of decarbonisation technologies.  Applications are being considered until 9 September 2022.

For more information or help please contact the team and further details of the eligibility requirements, application guidance and forms can be located on the Government website
