A leading academies expert, Head of Education and Partner in the number one provider of professional services to the academy sector, Bishop Fleming, has been appointed to the board of a national organisation for schools’ trusts.

Pam Tuckett joins a distinguished group of education sector chiefs on the board of The Confederation of Schools Trust (CST), an influential sector body promoting strong and sustainable leadership across schools in England.

As a highly-regarded trusted advisor to the academy sector by clients, the Education Skills Funding Agency, and the Department of Education, Pam Tuckett has considerable experience leading on the delivery of advice to over 900 schools throughout the country.

She will sit on the board at CST along with 12 other board members, working with the government of the day to advance education for the benefit of children and the wider community.

The Bishop Fleming Partner commented: “I am delighted to be appointed as a Trustee to Confederation of Schools Trust, and I am looking forward to working with a team that are as passionate about the academy sector as I am.

“I am hoping this will enable me to share my knowledge even wider, and I am looking forward to meeting as many members as possible.”

Pam Tuckett is already a trustee to a large multi-academy trust and a small charity and heads up the specialist education team within Bishop Fleming, the number one auditor for the academy sector.

She sits as Chair of the Kreston Academies Group and is the main author of the annual Academies Benchmark Report.  The report, which is published annually by Kreston Global’s academies group, is a financial state-of-the-nation survey of more than 360 trusts, representing nearly 1,500 schools.

Leora Cruddas, Chief Executive of the Confederation of School Trusts, said: “We are delighted to have someone of Pam’s professional standing join the CST board. She brings huge knowledge and skills from her professional role as qualified accountant and auditor, but also significant experience of governance in her role as Trustee of Westcountry Schools Trust.”

Bishop Fleming is currently the British Chamber of Commerce ‘National Business of the Year’ and have been ranked in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For, for five consecutive years. The firm is in the Top 30 of the UK’s national league table of accountancy firms and has seven offices across the South West and West Midlands.
