What sets Alastair apart?

Alastair is an expert in audit and risk assurance services, working for 25 years with a wide range of clients across the public, not-for-profit and corporate sectors in the South West and beyond.

He is used to working alongside senior management, boards and non-executives to build strong and long-term relationships and to deliver a first-rate client service.

One of his key aims is to invest time with his clients to truly understand what they are trying to achieve, to then in turn be able to tailor our resulting support for them to minimise their risk and enhance their ability to achieve their business aims. Alastair readily understands a client’s need for solution focussed, pragmatic, clear and easily understood advice, and this fundamentally underlines his whole approach.

He is pro-active and hands-on with his clients, firmly believing that open and on-going communication throughout the year underpins rewarding working relationships. Alastair has a breadth and depth of understanding for the education and housing sectors. He has worked with most further education colleges in the South West, and many others nationally.

Alastair has contributed to the recently published Academy trust financial management good practice guides and the Internal scrutiny in academy trusts guide as part of the ESFA Academies finance and assurance Working Group 3. The working group supports the ESFA Steering Group in its work programme to enable the ESFA, DFE and Academy Trusts to work collaboratively.
