What is Probate?

When someone has died the Executors will usually need to apply for a Grant of Probate. The grant itself is a legal document that confirms the Executor has the authority to deal with the deceased’s assets.

Once probate has been granted the Executors will be able to collect in and sell or transfer ownership of the deceased’s assets, such as investments or property.
