Recognising our ESG commitment

We are exceptionally proud to be recognised by Accounting Excellence and receiving this AccountingWEB Pride Award – ESG for Medium to Large Accountancy Firms which is testament to the hard work of our people to accelerate our ESG agenda.  
 

Over the past few years we have built our ESG framework around our Responsible Business (RB) strategy, encompassing Healthy Businesses, Communities, and Environment, and enhancing transparency in communicating our progress through our Annual Impact report, the third of which will be published next month.  

This year we launched our 1% for Communities pledge – a commitment to give back 1% of our annual turnover through impactful, community-focused volunteering, fundraising and related activities. This initiative underpins our values and ambition to be “ the most rewarding accountancy firm in the UK for our clients, people and communities” and helps focus our people’s engagement in supporting local communities.

As a responsible business, our people deliver a huge programme of community-based activities, whether it is giving blood, working with charities, or maintaining a position of responsibility such as Trusteeship within our community organisations. Combined with hundreds of hours of volunteering, fundraising events and activities, we collectively deliver community value running into hundreds of thousands of pounds each year.  But we have a real determination to drive this better and our 1% for Communities commitment will provide the ongoing measurement and framework to deliver even more value to the communities that sustain us.

A core part of our responsible business focus is sharing the importance of ESG with key stakeholders, providing strategic support and insight both in managing ESG risks and in realising the opportunities that arise from the ESG agenda. 

To be recognised for this award reflects the dedication and hard work of everyone at our firm. I’m genuinely proud of what we have accomplished so far, but also extremely excited but for the journey that lies ahead.
