The 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ List is made up of employers whose people have told Great Place To Work® UK they work for a place that is inclusive and equitable for all. The 330 companies on the list are committed to ensuring a reasonable balance of women and men across the organisation, removing barriers to women’s career advancement, and creating workplaces where all employees, regardless of gender, can flourish.

Commenting on the Great Place to Work® accolade, Bishop Fleming Chair and Partner Pippa Clarke said:

"We are delighted to receive this recognition once again - not only as a Great Place to Work® but also as one of the Best Workplaces for Women. This reflects our commitment to creating a workplace culture where everyone feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. Diversity drives innovation and success, and we are proud to support the growth and development of women within our firm.

Our mentorship initiatives, flexible working arrangements, return to work programmes and leadership development have been pivotal in earning this recognition. As a firm that serves a diverse range of clients, from owner-managed businesses and SMEs to large corporations and private individuals, we understand the importance of mirroring our client base's diversity within our workforce. Our strategic focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion enriches our work environment and strengthens our ability to deliver exceptional service to our clients.”

Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work UK says:

“Workplaces are only great if they’re great for all employees. For seven years, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ List has been paving the way by tackling discrimination, removing barriers to women’s advancement in their careers, and challenging taboos around subjects like menopause and endometriosis.

“Importantly, each of the companies on the list has been commended by their own female employees through their anonymous feedback that told us their workplace has gone above and beyond to ensure that women employees are treated fairly in terms of recognition, training, and promotion opportunities.

“It’s fantastic to once again see a wide spread of sectors and organisational sizes appearing on our Best Workplaces for Women™ List this year – congratulations to all!”

Bishop Fleming's success is also reflected in its recent announcement of another year of double-digit organic growth, taking revenue to over £43m in the year ending 31 May 2024. The firm is one year into its Better Growth business strategy designed to double the size of its business and transform its operations. Aligned with the firm’s growth will be a commitment to internal talent development and increasing its headcount by attracting talent from apprentices all the way up to lateral partner hires.

In its most recent round of firm-wide promotions, over 50% of the promotions were awarded to women. In September, the firm will see another cohort of apprentices join, taking the number of new apprentices in 2024 to 75 - another record-breaking year for apprentice recruitment. Additionally, the firm has recently welcomed two private client tax partners, Zoe Martin and Iona Martin, along with 62 experienced hires in the past 12 months, with more to come.
